Connect once
Link your bank via Mono (one tap, no typing your password), or set up email forwarding so your bank's debit alerts flow into Frugal automatically. You can also just type spends in by hand — five seconds each.
Every debit pings you
The moment money leaves your account, Frugal sends you a notification asking what it was for. Tap the answer, you're done. (On Android you can tap a quick-category button on the notification itself, without opening the app.)
Categories — or just describe it
Tap "Feeding", "Transport", "Bills & Rent" — or just type "lunch at Iya Yusuf" and let Claude figure it out. You can also say "I just spent ₦4k on data" via the Add screen.
The report shows you where it went
By category, by merchant, by day of week, by period. Compare this week to last, this month to last month, this quarter to the same time last year. Set monthly budgets per category and get warned at 70% so you don't blow through.
Ask Frugal — answers, not dashboards
Open Ask Frugal and type "did I spend more on transport this month than last?" or "find subscriptions I forgot about". Claude reads your data and gives you a real answer with a chart. You don't have to be a finance person to use it.

Frequently asked
- Do I need a smart bank for this?
- No. Even if your bank only sends you debit alert emails, you can forward them to Frugal and we'll parse the amount, merchant, and date for you. Manual entry also works — for cash spends or older transactions you want to record.
- Does it work for cash?
- Yes. Tap Add (the green + in the nav), type the amount, pick a category, and you're done. Takes five seconds.
- What if I have multiple accounts?
- Connect them all. Frugal aggregates across them. Income and expenses sit in the same place.
- Can I export my data?
- Yes. Settings → Export gives you a CSV of everything Frugal has seen. You can also use the AI to ask "export everything tagged Health for tax season".
- What does it cost?
- ₦20,000 per month after launch. ₦5,000 per month forever for waitlist members who lock in their spot with a one-time ₦5,000 payment.
